Scraps and sketches

Some art I am currently working on (even though I am kind of stuck on this one). I cannot seem to get past what to make of her. She is beautiful though, but the picture lacks… something.

This one is pretty finished already, and I am happy with the result. Looks neat.

I remade this jellyfish 4 times and I am still not satisfied with how it turned out. I should get to work with it thought, need it to be done in two weeks tops.

Cheers!

Manny – now with face up!

Yes, he kind of look like a girl… But I don’t mind :) At least he looks like something now instead of lying helplessly in a plastic box of neglect.

I had to remake his face up as the first one turned out horribly. This is my first ever time making a face up so I should not be too hard on myself.  All I need now is a bit varnish to put on his lips.

Cheers! :3

Doll update: Manny :3

I decided on naming him Manny! He will become my OOAK doll project.

During the easter holiday I painted him but accidentally painted him too many times so he ended up weird. I had to remove it and repaint him and this is how he looks now:

His scar may not be pretty but it is very hard to paint on layers of acrylic. I do not mind much though as long as he ends up ok.

That green stuff on his legs are actually Green Stuff, an air drying two part epoxy. Great for fixing cracks.

3rd degree burn. Might not be pretty but then again I do not mind.

And Oh My Gosh this is how he looked 2 years ago.

Cheers!

PS. I updated the beginner’s guide to making a doll; more experience, more knowledge. It is also easier to find as I put it in the side bar of this site.

Paper BJD: I have come quite far…

I am truly sorry I couldn’t be around more last year, but to make up for it I will now show how much work I have put into Ukraine (my polymer clay BJD, remember?). I am almost fully done with his body, I just need to make the leg joints then I am pretty much done.

He is as smooth as ever, as I have been sanding him with 2000 grained sanding paper…

I have completely redone the face. I liked it before, but I start to adore him now! He wasn’t even (I forgot to check in a mirror once in a while) therefore I had to remake his right hand side of his face.

He looked like a burn victim when I took this picture, but some 20 minutes sanding and sculpting later, he now looks like a recovered burn victim! :) Success.

Brotherly love? They should look the same as they are modeled from the same blueprint and the same reference pictures, but I see a few differences. They are still cute though, both of them.
Cheers!

Oh, and 115 visitors yesterday? :D Really? Yeey!

Polymer Clay: Testing out eyes and wig

My polymer doll again, now strung with a leg :) Will need more work with him but finally I think I have mastered his mobility. I borrowed the silicon eyes from Ukraine, but I will order two pair of silicon eyes for this baby today. Good thing his wig still fits and for once, he doesn’t look like a freak wearing it.

He looks kind of funny with his white lips, jaw and brows. Will have to paint him later, might test it out on his torso today.

Cutiepie <3 What shall I name you?

Cheers!

Portrait: Aimi

Finally finished with my drawing of Aimi :3 Result turned out great, even if I really want to do more with this piece later.

[Photo reference: here]  [Bigger version: here]

One of my best friends in the world :) Her skin and hair were a relief to make after finishing the lucky cat picture. Actually, anything is better than having to make that darn cat again. Her hair was actually quite enjoyable to paint, as I very much like the colour of the curls. Hm, now I can’t come up with anything else to say.

Cheers

Just moved…

I have just finished moving from my apartment back to my boyfriend’s family’s house. Well, at least I have somewhere to live. :)

I will get you updated on that lucky cat I am drawing, along with some other works I’m… working on.

Now, I really really need popcorn.

Cheers!

Dream Journal – Animating

Yes, I occasionally try out lucid dreaming. If you don’t know what it is, I suggest you read this: What is Lucid Dreaming? and try it out yourself. It might not be easy, but anyone who can sleep, can learn how to lucid dream.

Now to my dream journal:

I became conscious while dreaming about myself being at an airport, which is quite ironic considering I no longer need to learn how to fly in a Lucid dream (mastered that in my last dream) and now wanted to try out something else. I tried spinning around to change the environment but I kept ending up at that stupid airport. I couldn’t remember what I wanted to do in this Lucid dream which is bad because I risk spending all my dreaming time thinking of what to do. I though, “Maybe I should invite my little buddy Kurage”, who is my mascot in real life, and maybe try to animate him.

I held out my hands and closed my eyes and wished for him to appear. I could not feel him lying there in my hands until I opened my eyes again and there he was! His fabric was… stiff, and he smelled funny but looked just like in real life. I said to him “Didn’t I wash you recently?” and suddenly his fabric became soft and smelled like washing softener! I tried to make him talk, but he refused, so I put him on the floor and told him to walk, which he actually did! He walked… very funny though. I told him to jump when I lifted my hand and he did! He followed me around the airport like a little dog. I found my boyfriend at a cafeteria in the airport and showed him my new found pet, but my boyfriend wasn’t too excited. I sat down with my boyfriend and woke up. Hm, funny dream.

This is Kurage, too bad he doesn’t follow me around in real life.
